Nordic walking workshop in Samobor
Nordic walking workshop starts in Samobor on 2 April 2019 under expert guidance of prof.dr.sc. Gordana Furjan-Mandić. The workshop program includes 10 one-hour training sessions to be held every Tuesday at 19:00 at Vugrinščak.
Nordic Walking originated in Finland and was designed as a substitute for cross-country skiing. It involves walking on a flat or hilly terrain using a specific technique of movement with specially designed walking poles.
This training technique reduces muscle tension in the neck and shoulder belt, increases flexibility of the spine and upper body muscles, strengthens the forearm, shoulder, abdominal, chest and back musculature, strengthens ankle and knee joints, reduces knee joint load in overweight people. At the same time, using special poles increases the safety of movement on sloping and uneven terrain as well as increases calorie consumption by approximately 20% compared to regular walking.
Nordic walking sticks will be provided to the workshop participants and for this reason a prior application is required (no later then March 30, 2019)
